When out on the dating scene you meet just about every type of guy imaginable… Here are eight signs that will tell you whether you should steer clear of him or not.

1. The Clinger – If you are hanging out for the first time and he is all over you and won’t let anyone else even talk to you, attempting to isolate you from everyone else you may want to steer clear.

2. The True Kid at Heart – Not just that he is funny and likes to make stupid jokes but he is looking for someone to be his mother, not his girlfriend. He wants someone to manage his life and will consistently avoid responsibilities this may encourage you to steer clear.

3.The Violent One – He will constantly have to be in control. If at any point he loses control of the situation you will see him blame someone else or get violent with whoever the problem seems to be with. Women should always be sure to steer clear of this guy.

4. The Unavailable Man – If he seems emotionally distant and tells you that he is “almost out” of a current relationship be aware that he could be emotionally unavailable and there is a good chance he is married or dating other woman. Steer clear of this man unless you enjoy waiting on a worthless hope.

5. Mr. Selfish – To spot this kind of guy you would see him wearing a lot of bling. You won’t be happy with a selfish guy because he will never give or care what you want. Steer clear of a flashy, selfish guy if you care about your own happiness.

6. The Last Resort Guy – He likes to have a number in his phone as a “back up plan.” Someone he can call if all other plans fall through. A good sign that you are his last resort is if he only calls you at 3 a.m. when bars are closing. Steer clear of any last resort guy unless you enjoy constantly being put on the back burner.

7. Mr. No Responsibilities, No Problems – If he isn’t going to school and hasn’t had a job for a long time, I would advise that you get out of the chair and move on. You can tell the difference when a guy is seriously struggling in finding a job and when he is just down right lazy and irresponsible.

8. The “lets hang out at your place” guy – This is what you hear every time that you get together with this guy. He never invites you over, doesn’t give you his number and likes to give you vague answers. This could mean he has another life at home that he’s not telling you about or it could simply mean that he’s embarrassed of something. Either of which after a couple dates you need to get the answer to or else you need to steer clear.

When out on the dating scene be sure to choose a guy wisely and watch for signs that can be emotionally or physically harmful to you in the relationship. Also be sure that you never settle, make sure you are completely happy and comfortable on that first encounter or move on because you deserve the best.
