As I’m sure you all well know, the economy is not at its best at the moment. And that makes taking your love out a little difficult.

Stretching your dollar typically leads you to McDonald’s, and, lets face it, that’s not exactly going to get you laid. Unless, of course, by “laid” you mean, “laid in a casket”.

Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing the matter with hitting up McDonald’s. But if every other date is at McDonald’s, you’ve got a serious problem.

Perhaps the problem is that you can’t think of anything clever enough to suit your mate. Or perhaps it’s that you can’t afford to take them out to expensive places.

There is nothing wrong with saving money.

My boyfriend and I are saving as much money as possible, but we still manage to make every outing sickeningly adorable.

We invented the “breaknic”; a breakfast picnic. This date was one of the best in my life, and it was incredibly inexpensive.

We took a blanket down to Lions Field and sat down at the edge of the water. Be prepared for this date, it may be a little chilly, and it will be amazingly adorable.

And, it should probably be a little early in the morning so you can actually watch the sunrise. I know that’s a stretch for most of you, since you all stay in and watch cartoons, but skip them one morning, and take your partner out.

Oh, and bring a blanket big enough to stretch out on and cuddle.

But let’s not forget the food.

The food could be anything you and your partner desire; from Subway, to Chungs, to homemade cookies.

Nothing is cuter than seeing the first few rays of sunlight hit the water sitting next to the person you love -- or like.

And watching all the old people go for their morning walk in their matchy-matchy jogging suits.

You and your partner won’t be able to look at the old couples without thinking “one day, we will be that ridiculous, and have matching jogging suits that don’t hold up the parts of our bodies that gravity has decided now belong on the ground.”

Now, keep in mind, these ideas are NOT just for the men. Ladies, you are more than capable of taking your man out as well, or even keeping him in.

Another romantic idea for you and your love interest; stay home.

Kick everyone else out, so it’s just the two of you, and stay home.

Set the table, light a few candles, and cook dinner.

Don’t be afraid to spice things up a bit, and I’m not just talking about the flavor of the food, it’s all about the atmosphere.

Don’t be scared to play naked. Set up naked, cook naked, clean naked, play naked.
N.A.K.E.D.

It’s nice to see your partner’s body. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion for that to happen, and it doesn’t have to be ‘sexy time,’ either. Go natural.

They won’t be able to keep their hands/eyes/lips off of you.

And, by distracting them with how adorable you look in just an apron or just holding a spatula, they won’t notice that you can’t cook rice, or that you burnt the pudding. Not that I’ve done that…
