men's and women's basketball
teams will be able to officially
kick off their season in
jut a few weeks.
On Nov. 16, the women's
team will play in the Shoreline
Tournamen, and on Nov.
18 the men's team will play
Wenatchee Valley at home.
Since school started, both
teams have been conditioning
and have only just officially
started practice.
According to women's
head coach Paul Felker, the
team is "very excited."
"We've got a good group of
young women that are working
really hard," Felker said.
While the women's team
has a medley of returning
and new players, the men's is
entirely fresh with no returning
players.
Five-year men's head coach
Billy Landram spoke confidently
about his new team.
"Not as much height but
we're a lot quicker and more
athletic," Landram said.
From a record of 7-18 in
2003-2004 to a record of 11-
16 in the 2006-2007 season,
Landram is clearly showing
statistical improvement.
In 2004-2005, the women
had a 20-10 season and went
18-11 in 2005-2006.
Because of last year's 5-21
record, it is hard to say where
the team will go this year.
"We expect to be competitive
this year. We're gonna
play an entertaining style of
basketball," Felker said.
