Volleyball team clinging on to possible NWAACC appearance

The Ranger's volleyball
team have fought this season
for a total of six wins.
They currently are ranked
second to last in their division,
just above Everett.
Aug. 31
The Olympic College
Rangers opened the season
against a solid Chemeketa
team losing in three
straight games, 30-24, 30-
15, 30-21. Later in the day
the Rangers were handled
by Linn-Benton winning
only in their second game.
Linn-Benton def OC, 30-27,
28-30, 30-21, 30-20.
Sept. 1
The Rangers traveled to
Salem, Ore. to compete in
the Chemeketa Invitational
Tournament, only to be
swept in three straight
matches by Treasure
Valley, Walla Walla and
Chemeketa.
Sept. 5
Chemeketa and Pierce
traveled to Bremerton to
face a 0-5 Ranger team.
Despite losing in the first
match against Pierce, freshman
Amber Lyons led all
players with 18 assists.
In the second match,
OC fell to Chemekata for
the third straight time
this season despite Renee
Blankenship leading the
Rangers with 19 digs.
Sept. 7
The Rangers picked up
their first win of the season
dominating Grays Harbor
in three games. OC def
Grays Harbor, 30-12, 30-
24, 30-21.
Sept. 11
OC traveled to Centralia
to pick up their second win
of the season defeating
Centralia. Liz Davis led
with 12 kills and Tori Lynn
with 11. OC def Centralia,
30-21, 23-30, 30-21, 30-25.
Sept. 12
The Rangers headed
to Auburn to face Green
River and came away with
their third straight win.
Davis and Abbie Marcum
led the Rangers to victory,
both scoring in double digits
in kills and digs. OC def
Green River, 27-30, 30-19,
37-35, 30-23.
Sept. 13
Tacoma traveled to
Bremerton and played
spoiler by defeating OC,
and ending their three
game winning streak. The
Rangers fell to 3-8 on the

Sept.19
Bellevue traveled to
Bremerton to open league
play and hands the Rangers
their second loss in a row,
despite Lyons leading the
Rangers with 23 assists.

Sept. 21
The Rangers traveled to
Edmonds in search of a
win but came away with
their third straight loss.
The Rangers fell to 3-10
on the season. Edmonds
def OC, 30-24, 30-19, 25-30,
30-26.
Sept. 24
Olympic defended their
home turf and picked up
their fourth win of the
season, doing away with
Everett. OC def Everett 18-
30, 30-18, 30-14, 30-22.
Sept. 26
Skagit Valley visited
Bremerton to play the
Rangers and had no problem
putting away OC in
three straight games.

26, 30-17, 30-22.
Sept. 29
OC traveled to Shoreline
and was dominated. OC
dropped to 4-12 on the season
and 1-4 in league play.

Oct. 3
OC fell again for the
third time in a row without
much of a fight. Shoreline

30-23.
